The city of Boise is a welcoming community made up of a beautifully diverse population. For years, it has served as a safe harbor for refugees, not only as a destination on their long journey to find asylum, but also as a place to call home. The process of resettling in a new country is difficult and involves culture shock, learning a new language, and redefining your entire life.

The stories of the members of our community that have come here as refugees are important and deserve to be voiced. Whether they can tell their story in English, or with the help of a translator, we are here to listen to their stories in their purest forms.

The Agency for New Americans desperately needs your help to keep our doors open.
The anti-refugee climate of our current administration has caused drastic drops in financial support for organizations that provide support and resettlement for refugees.  The lack of federal support as already caused one of Idaho’s refugee resettlement agencies to close
their doors. We do not want to be next. You can donate on our website or mail your contribution to ANA at Jannus, 1614 W. Jefferson Street, Boise, 83702.
Your financial donation to the Agency for New Americans can make the difference!  We also encourage you to contact your Idaho Congressional delegation and tell them to continue the refugee resettlement program.  If you want more information about this process please visit the Refugee Council USA's Advocate page.

We remain fully committed to our work and providing quality services for a new wave of refugees.  With your help we can continue this vital work.  Please see the attached report for further details on how and why this current situation is affecting the Agency of New Americans and what you can do to help.

It is a year of great uncertainty for the Agency for New Americans and those we serve; we are thankful for you and for Boise, together we live in shared abundance. For more information, read our End of the Year Appeal Reflection.

With my deepest gratitude and wishes for a peaceful and plentiful Holiday Season,

Slobodanka Hodzic, Director
Agency for New Americans
